The exhibitor passes for The Food Show arrived today. It's here!
Thurs 2 Aug – Sun 5 Aug 10am – 6pm Thurs – Sat 10am – 5pm Sun ASB Showground We are going to Auckland's favourite food show.
What's going to be special there: - Introduction of Vege Tofu (no, not of our business name, but of the product). It's Fresh Organic Tofu with carrot and spirulina. A first in NZ! - New product launch. There's a new product that we have making, and it will be launched at the show. A 100% vegan product, we are sure many vegans would be interested in it. It is not available in NZ, so another first! In fact, it does not seem to be available in Australia/NZ region, and slightly further up into Asia. We have put the product Pandan Organic Soymilk back on our product list in response to consumer requests.
There is a new flavour for Nugget King! Seaweed - more unami! It is very busy now as we prepare for the upcoming event in August. We are going to the Food Show! Tofu side dish - Use ORGANIC SOFT TOFU
This is really quick and easy. A simple Japanese dish, Hiyayakko. Warm tofu. Add grated ginger on top. Drizzle with soy sauce. Finally top it with a tinge of wasabi. Serve. Alternatives: You can eat it cold too. Suggested warm because it's winter now (my fingers are freezing cold as I type). If you don't have ginger, that is fine too. Soy sauce alone suffices. Yes, wasabi is optional, though I think it gives the dish some kick. For a slightly Chinese taste, add sesame oil. Or, instead of a savoury dish, use maple syrup for a sweet dessert. Or any syrup toppings you like. Scrambled Tofu - Use ORGANIC FIRM TOFU
Wrap tofu with clean paper towel. Add a plate (to act as weight) on top of the tofu. Let stand for 10 minutes (an estimate, once tofu is not wet, it is fine). Remove wet paper towel and dry tofu with new dry paper towel. Break dry tofu into crumbs using fingers. Sautee crumbs in oil for a couple of minutes, stirring often. Add paprika powder and salt. You can also add curry powder/tumeric/pepper. Serve hot on/with toast. Or serve with tortilla and sauce. Or eat it on its own! |
