Japan Day 2012
The Japan Day is the biggest one-day Japanese cultural event in New Zealand welcoming everyone to experience, learn, watch and taste the culture of Japan under one roof. There are plenty of things to do throughout the day, from rice pounding to playing karuta. There are also traditional and modern performances on both the inside and outside stages throughout the day.
We were there with our delicious hiyayakko dish with the rare myoga and other toppings. There was also tofu tempura and various flavours of tonyu. It's always satisfying to hear 'oishii' after someone had their first bite of the hiyayakko. All the hard work of making the organic tofu and preparing the toppings seemed to dissolve at that point.
Domo arigato to all who came and supported us!
